Since entering the main flood season in June this year, the southern regions of our country have experienced continuous heavy rainfall, with many areas breaking historical records for the same period. In the face of such extreme rainfall events, hospitals need to pay special attention to rain and lightning protection and take a series of measures to ensure the safety and stability of medical equipment.
When encountering continuous heavy rainfall weather, hospitals can adopt the following preventive measures to prevent equipment failure and affect normal operations.
1. Lightning Protection: Ensure that the PSA air separation equipment has a grounding system and can work normally;
Reason: To prevent damage to the equipment from lightning.
2. Waterproofing: Check the drainage system around the equipment to ensure that rainwater can be quickly drained away, preventing the equipment from being waterlogged.
Reason: Waterlogging can affect the electrical system, sensors, and control system of the equipment, increasing the chance of equipment failure and maintenance costs. In severe cases, the control system may fail due to waterlogging, resulting in replacement or maintenance expenses.
3. Moisture and Impurity Prevention: Increase the maintenance of the filter group to maintain filtration capacity.
Reason: Continuous heavy rainfall can increase humidity, and impure water treatment can affect the molecular sieve working efficiency of PSA air separation equipment. Additionally, rainwater may carry various impurities, such as fine sand, wood chips, and leaf debris, which can clog filters, reduce filtration effectiveness (capacity), and affect the overall system performance. Replace filter elements as necessary to efficiently remove moisture and impurities from the compressed air.
4. Corrosion Prevention: Prevent moisture from accelerating the corrosion process of the equipment.
Reason: When internal components of the equipment get damp, it increases unstable factors during equipment operation and may even lead to safety accidents. Regular equipment inspection and maintenance are needed to promptly identify and address corrosion issues.
5. Power Interruption Prevention: Prepare generators or UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) to ensure normal equipment operation.
Reason: Heavy rainfall may cause power interruptions.
6. Operational Error Prevention: Provide sufficient anti-slip facilities to reduce the probability of operational errors.
Reason: In bad weather, operators may make mistakes due to wet hands or other reasons.
7. Equipment Overheating Prevention: Pay more attention to the working status of the equipment to ensure it is in good condition.
Reason: Heavy rainfall weather can cause poor heat dissipation of the equipment.
Overall, during heavy rainfall weather, it is still necessary to pay more attention to the operating status of the equipment, timely identify and address potential faults, and ensure efficient and orderly production.
