The quality of medical gases is related to the safety and health of patients, so high standards and specifications need to be followed in terms of system monitoring and alarm. According to the current system architecture of medical gas system monitoring and alarm devices, we can divide medical gas system monitoring and alarm devices into on-site monitoring and alarm devices, centralized monitoring and alarm devices, and remote monitoring and alarm devices. This article mainly explains in detail the functional requirements of on-site monitoring and alarm devices.
The so-called on-site monitoring and alarm device refers to a monitoring device set in a visible and quickly operable area of the monitored equipment or pipeline to achieve on-site monitoring of the current equipment operation status, medical gas pressure parameters, setting related parameters, and on-site alarm and signal remote transmission in abnormal situations. It consists of two parts: monitoring and alarm. According to relevant regulations, the functions of the local alarm device shall meet the following requirements;
1. When the main supply compressor and cold dryer of the medical air supply source are shut down due to a fault, the fault alarm should be activated; when the standby compressor and cold dryer are put into operation, the standby operation alarm should be activated;
2. The medical air supply source should be equipped with a carbon monoxide concentration alarm, and the alarm should be activated when the carbon monoxide concentration exceeds the standard;
3. When the atmospheric pressure dew point of medical air reaches -20°C, the atmospheric pressure dew point of instrument air exceeds 30°C, and the atmospheric pressure dew point of dental air exceeds -18.2°C, the alarm should be activated;
4. Set fault shutdown alarms for the air compressor and cold dryer of the medical molecular sieve oxygen concentrator respectively;
5. Set an oxygen concentration monitoring alarm for the medical molecular sieve oxygen concentrator. When the oxygen concentration is lower than the specified value, the oxygen concentration low limit alarm and the emergency standby gas source operation alarm should be activated.
By setting up a monitoring and alarm system for medical gas as required, the operating status and parameter changes of the medical gas system can be viewed in real time, abnormal data can be discovered in time and people can be alerted to make corrections. This is of great significance to ensuring the safe, efficient and sustainable operation of the medical gas system.
