Five Advantages of VPSA Oxygen Production Technology Over PSA Oxygen Production

The VPSA (Vacuum Pressure Swing Adsorption) oxygen production technology, also known as vacuum swing adsorption technology, is very similar to the traditional PSA (Pressure Swing Adsorption) oxygen production technology but also has its differences. These differences bring five system advantages over PSA oxygen production:

• The working pressure of the VPSA oxygen production system is low. Separating air at a lower working pressure means lower energy consumption.

• The VPSA oxygen production system uses an oil-free blower, avoiding the common issue of oil residue found in oil-lubricated compressors.

• The working pressure in the VPSA oxygen production system is less than 10% of that in the PSA system, reducing the likelihood of damaging the molecular sieve and causing dust.

• In the vacuum pressure swing adsorption system, the probability of sieve damage due to working pressure, which generates dust, is very small. Consequently, the impact of dust on the solenoid valves in the system is also minimal (unblocking solenoid valves). Therefore, the frequency of valve maintenance in the VPSA oxygen production system is correspondingly lower.

• Compared to the air source system (air compressor) used in the PSA oxygen production system, the air source composition (blower) in the VPSA oxygen production system requires less maintenance work.

Overall, the VPSA oxygen production system features large single-machine oxygen output, low energy consumption, simple structure, and wide application. Especially, the characteristic of low equipment operating energy consumption has positive significance for promoting sustainable development. It may become an ideal choice for achieving a green economy and supporting sustainable development goals in the future.
